Terms of Use

1. Parties and acceptance

These terms govern your use of the lingy mobile app. The app is provided by KAIA MEDIA LTD, registered in England and Wales (company number 16233420, registered office: 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom). In these terms, “we” and “us” mean KAIA MEDIA LTD.

By creating an account or using the app, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app. How we process your personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. If you are under 18, we recommend using the app with your parent's or guardian's knowledge.
• Use a valid email address when you sign up and do not share your password with anyone. You are responsible for activity on your account.
• If you think your account is being used without permission, change your password and let us know.

3. Acceptable use

When using the app, you agree not to:

• bulk-copy, scrape, sell or republish the word list or other app content;
• try to bypass the app's security, access other users' data or overload our servers;
• reverse engineer or modify the app, or distribute modified versions (except where the law expressly allows it);
• game ad impressions or the rewarded ad system;
• send abusive, harassing or unlawful content in word error reports.

4. Content and intellectual property

We own the rights in the app, its design, the word list and the information added to the words (meanings, parts of speech, exam frequency). We grant you a non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Words you add to the app yourself belong to you. We use them only to store them in your account and show them to you.

When you report a word error, you agree that we may use your report free of charge to correct the word list.

5. Free service and ads

lingy is free; there are no in-app purchases or subscriptions. The service is funded by banner ads shown through Google AdMob and by rewarded ads that you choose to watch. Ad content belongs to advertisers; we are not responsible for the products and services in ads. If we add paid features in the future, we will show them clearly before you pay anything.

6. Disclaimer

We provide the app “as is”. We take care to keep the word list accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that it is error-free or that it will lead to success in any exam. lingy is a study aid and is not affiliated with official exam bodies (such as ÖSYM). We do not guarantee that the app will be available without interruption; it may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance or technical issues. The app requires an internet connection.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses, loss of profit or opportunity, or your exam results. As the service is free, our total liability arising from these terms is limited to £50.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law (for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Your mandatory rights as a consumer under the law of the country where you live are not affected.

8. Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profil → Ayarlar → Hesabı Sil (Profile → Settings → Delete account), or by email.

If you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, we may suspend or close your account. Where possible, we will warn you first and tell you why. If we decide to shut the app down entirely, we will give reasonable notice.

9. Changes

We may update these terms as the app or the law changes. The current version is always published on this page and the date at the top changes. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, you can delete your account.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. This does not take away your right to rely on the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live; you may bring disputes before the courts or consumer arbitration bodies of your country of residence. If you have a problem, please contact us first; we will do our best to resolve it.
